On November 15, 2021 China New Energy Development Forum opens in Yancheng. Under the guidance of “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality” goals, global experts and business leaders in new energy sector gather here, focusing on the theme of “Empowerment by Dual Carbon, Wisdom for Bright Future”, sharing their best practices in this field and making continuous efforts to build international cooperative platform, jointly building the promising future with green transition.

In recent years, Yancheng has unshakably persisted in the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism With Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, with full penetration in new development theory and new development pattern, pushing forward green transition and green leap-forward and building high-end economy system and low-carbon energy system, then injecting green power into the modernization and high quality development. By the end of this October, city’s new energy installed capability has reached 10.39 million KW, accounting for 26.8% provincially while the new-energy generated electricity takes up 60% of its total, contributing to its title as the first “10 million KW new energy generated electricity city” green energy city. Especially the new energy including wind power has gained great momentum. After the wind power installed capacity reaching 7.8 million KW and the settlement of the very first joint-venture offshore wind power project, Yancheng has pioneered nationwide in offshore wind power and provided a model for cross-border offshore wind power cooperation.
